After a long, hot summer, the UAE’s cooler months are the perfect time to step outdoors, get your hands dirty and reconnect with nature.
Starting from mid/late October, as the weather becomes more comfortable, Ghaf planting season officially gets underway and we are inviting companies, schools and communities to join us.

While we spend much of the summer indoors escaping the heat, winter in the UAE is something to make the most of. Why not swap the meeting room for the outdoors and bring your team together for an experience that is not only fun, but also meaningful?
Through Ghaf tree planting, teams can spend time outdoors while learning about one of the UAE’s most iconic native trees, its role in the desert ecosystem and why the Ghaf holds such an important place in the country’s natural and cultural heritage.
Known as the national tree of UAE, the Ghaf (Prosopis cineraria) is remarkably adapted to life in harsh desert conditions. Its deep roots help it access scarce water, while its presence supports biodiversity and contributes to healthier, more resilient landscapes. And there’s something particularly rewarding about putting your own hands in the soil, planting a tree and knowing that you have helped give it a chance to grow.

Why Plant a Ghaf?
Ghaf planting is about much more than putting a tree in the ground.

The Ghaf has long been part of life in the Emirates and was deeply valued by the late Sheikh Zayed, whose vision for greening the UAE transformed the landscape and continues to inspire environmental action today.
Through Give A Ghaf, a campaign by Goumbook brings together nature, heritage, education and active participation helping people experience the UAE’s natural environment while playing a small but meaningful role in protecting it.

The planting season is relatively short, with outdoor activities taking place from around mid/late October through May, when temperatures are more suitable for outdoor planting.
