Goumbook partnered with Global Citizen at Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres Tour in Abu Dhabi. Highlighting our Eat It or Save It – Beyond Food Waste campaign. The goal was simple. Raise awareness about food waste. Inspire real change and showcase achievable solutions.
Why Food Waste Matters
Food waste is not just about leftovers. It has social, environmental, and economic consequences. When food is wasted, resources are wasted too. Water, energy, labour, and transport are all lost.
Food waste also contributes to climate change. Decomposing food produces methane gas.Methane is a powerful greenhouse gas. At the same time, millions struggle with food insecurity. This makes food waste a global contradiction.

Music Meets Sustainability
Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres Tour is known for its sustainability commitments. The tour promoted climate action and responsible production. Being part of this platform was so meaningful for us. It connected sustainability with culture and community.
Our showcase stand was in the Fan Zone, seeing footfall of 160,000 to 200,000 visitors. At our activation space, we hosted an interactive food waste quiz. Fans tested their knowledge on food waste impacts and solutions with a daily change to win prizes!.
The energy was electric.The conversations were inspiring. Thousands of fans engaged with the topic of food waste. Many shared their own ideas on how to reduce waste at home.
